TDC Receives $50,000 to Begin Municipal Development Plan

December 18, 2007 – The Torrington Development Corporation (TDC) is pleased to announce that the Torrington City Council unanimously voted to allocate $50,000 of funds already set aside for the downtown redevelopment effort to begin the Municipal Development Plan (MDP).

Once complete, the MDP will serve as an ordinance guiding all future development within the downtown district. This will ensure that any redevelopment or new construction is consistent with community needs and desires.

"The Corporation is grateful for all previous support the city has given and looks forward to working together to revitalize our downtown district into a thriving economic and cultural hub of Northwest Connecticut," said Board President Victor Muschell.
