TDC Seeking Interim Executive Director

July 31, 2008 - The Torrington Development Corporation (TDC) is seeking a new Interim Executive Director to fill an upcoming vacancy created by the recent resignation of Christina Emery.

Ms. Emery was selected by the TDC Board of Directors to serve as an Interim Executive Director on a part-time basis in November, 2006. Ms. Emery has made a valuable contribution to the TDC over the past two years, playing a key role in the establishment of an office at 40 Main Street, creating a website to distribute public information, facilitating the hiring of the consulting firm of Milone & MacBroom, Inc. completing the first phase of the Municipal Development Plan, and successfully applied for and received $504,000 in state funds to advance the planning efforts of the downtown revitalization project.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Torrington Development Corporation wish her well in her new endeavor.

A search committee, made up of Board Members JoAnn Ryan, Michael Menard, Vickie Patrick and Vic Muschell, is actively seeking resumes from qualified individuals. The committee has posted the job with the Northeastern Economic Developers Association.
